Water lilies and other such vegetation will begin to die back this time of year, now that autumn is upon us.

Remove dying or dead plant material, such as lily pads and stems, from the pond to prevent them decaying at the bottom of the pond.

Leaving dead material in the pond will have a negative affect on the water quality through the winter, and may harm any livestock or wildlife in the water itself.
