On the telly the other day it said we had an average of 11 hours of daylight in November in the UK. I must be right at the minimum end of the scale for that average, it gets light about 7:30 and then is pretty much dark by 4:00.

The net effect on the garden is that currently the dew and mist doesn't dry out, so all the plants and lawn are staying damp. I've seen the algae start coming through on the patio, and I'm worried about disease reaching my plants, but there isn't a lot I can do at the moment. Is anybody else experiencing the same?

The days are definitely getting shorter, and I'm too starting to see green patches emerge on my paved areas.

I've already moved frost tender plants into the greenhouse, and covered up any plants that are in the ground, like my Gunnera. It's forecast to turn pretty cold over the next few days; we had a slight frost this morning, so my advice would be to cover up your tender plants if you haven't already done so.
