Tree PlantingWhen considering tree planting we start from the bottom up: are you planting trees that have root balls or are they whips? Are they to be planted near a drainage system? If so you will need a root barrier. Are these to be larger specimen trees? If so you might elect to use the Platipus tree anchoring system to prevent damage to the vulnerable root system as it becomes established.
The root system can be encouraged to establish rapidly by using mycorrhizal materials that extend the root network and help young plants grow through periods of stress. Adequate weed suppressant membrane can help reduce the need for herbicides and finally it is always worth considering what level of support is going to be needed for the young trees and shrubs. The use of tree ties, tree stakes and supports are proven to help young and vulnerable plants get established.
